House of Thiasus
Appearance
The House of Thiasus (Italian: Casa del Tiaso) is a house in Pompeii that served as a religious site for the Dionysian Mysteries until the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. In February 2025, archeologists excavating the house discovered large colorful frescoes, dating to 40–30 BC, that depict scenes of the ritual initiation of a woman into a mystery cult and images from Roman mythology.[1][2][3]
